ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

Scientific Conferences on Armament have been organized by the Institute of Armament Technology (IAT) from the Military University of Technology (MUT) since 1996. The inventors of conferences were:

  • Commander of the Faculty of Armament and Aviation from MUT-  Colonel Professor Wiesław SOBIERAJ,
  • Head of the Institute of Armament Technology of the Faculty of Armaments and Aviation from MUT - Colonel Professor Józef GACEK.

On the basis of the agreement settled in 2008 between the Institute of Armament Technology of the Faculty of Mechatronics from the Military University of Technology and Military Institute of Armament Technology, it was decided that once a year both the above-mentioned institutions will be the joint organizers of the International Conference on Armament under the name ARMAMENT, which:

  • in even years - International Armament Conference on "Scientific Aspects of Armament and Safety Technology",
  • in odd years - International Scientific and Technical Conference on "Problems of Development, Production, and Exploitation of Armament Technology".

The idea behind the creation of the ARMAMENT Conference was the integration of the scientific and industrial community working for the Polish arms industry, whose products are dedicated especially to the Polish Army. It was the organizers' desire that the Conference permanently inscribed in the calendar of events promoting scientific achievements and technical thought (especially Polish) in the field of broadly understood armaments and security issues. And it probably happened as the Conference has been consistently developing, gaining many partners and participants from Poland and abroad.

So far, 12 ARMAMENT Conferences on "Scientific Aspects of Armament and Safety Technology" took place in Solina, Waplewo, Pułtusk, Ryn and Jachranka:

  • 1st Conference in Solina – November 27th – 29th, 1996 (60 papers, including three foreign ones),
